Mark O'connor on bass

    Ok, he smokes on the fiddle and mandolin-does he have to be a good bassist too? I came across a cassette of him from the 80's called "Elysian Fields" (think Jean-Luc Ponty goes country.) He plays all the instruments except drums and sax. All parts parts are on a fretless, and he actually plays pretty well. Too much musical ability for one guy.

    Oh yes, he plays guitar on this one as well.

    Yes, O'Connor also plays guitar...some say he was better than Steve Morse when he played in the Dregs.

    That figures....
    wasn't he the national flatpicking champion when he was 13 years old or something?
