Hi eveybody,I'm new in this forum and I write from Italy, the Markbass country

I'm a happy owner of the MB combo 2x10 and I'm gonna buy an extension cabinet in order to get a more powerful rig

I'm very indecise among these MB cabinets:
    104HF or HR
    151HF or HR or Traveler
    102HF or traveler

Otherwise I've a GAS for the new head R500. In this case I'd buy a new cabinet, maybe the new CL106 or one 104

    Greeting from Italy :)

Hi, when I get an extension for mine I think it will be a 102 - either the Traveller or the HF. The thought of getting a 104HF or even the Traveller 104 sounds great but IMHO it'll defeat the purpose of why I got MB to begin with - to go smaller and lighter. I also tried the 151 but I liked the sound of the 102 better, seems to sound deeper (to my surprise).

Phat Daddy; who was responsible for me really considering this combo; went with the 104HF... I'm sure he will chime in if he sees this thread.

Either way you can't go wrong, MB rocks!

And what about the MB R500?
Does it have sense to sell the combo for this head? I love the warm tube sound but however I want something light

Would you consider the Traveler 121H? I know that cabinet won an award, and is only 34 pounds. And I believe 2 - 12's @ 500 watts should be enough for virtually every situation.

I've got the 104HF with mine and I love the result. Very powerful, full range sound. I would suggest that any way you go, get an HF cab because the CMD 102P is front-ported. This way the look and sound of the cabs would match. These cabs generally have a more pronounced low end by design. The 102HF looks to be a really cool cab as well (as you can tell I'm a big advocate of 10" speakers).

    What's up, YCbass!

I knew that the CMD102 is rear-ported, am I wrong?

    I haven't considered the 121 because I don't think that 2x10+1x12 would be a nice couple...

Phat Daddy, isn't the 104HF too heavy to transport?

MB recommends combining rear and front port speakers. I'd go for 10"s in your case. Then again, I don't like 15"s so don't listen to me ;)

Depnds on how much air you want to move. I would think they both are quite capable of doing that. And for my purposes, a 4-10" rig is well more than enough air I'd have to move.

My other option would be sell the combo and buy a R500 head + a 4x10 cabinet but I don't know if it's worth

The CMD 102P is definately a front-ported enclosure. The port is in the form of a large vent underneath the two 10's. There are no ports in the rear. If you're going strictly on moving a good amount of air along with portability, the 102HF would be an obvious choice. If you don't mind a little lifting, the 104HF isn't too heavy and moves a lot more air. I've got pop-out casters on mine, makes moving around a cinche.
