So being a Canadian (America's Hat) has never been easy. Almost everything I own comes from or through American Markets.

Recently the Canadian Dollar has plunged and the talk of a Steel/Aluminum tariff is really putting into doubt any future purchases outside of Canada. How this will effect my bass needs I have no idea...but it ain't gonna be any good.

    Kinda Bummed out.

Based on my observations during the past year or so, you are likely a long way from seeing a tarriff implemented. Currencies and markets may still swing, but it will be based on rumor and guessing, rather than actual tariffs.

How is Canadian currency versus the Yen or Korean won ? You may do better money wise with gear made in those countries (which is good quality anyway).

You could move to the USA. That'll eliminate those pesky bass tariffs.

People from Australia can pipe up about the relative value of the Oz dollar vs. just about anything else. Prices there really are trying to kill you, just like all the creepy-crawly animals that are native to that continent.

I'm toying with the idea of "Us: Unknowable" as a band name.

Trump has a solid performance record on foreign policy so I'm sure it will be a win win for both nations just like always.

No comment. Not that I disagree, just too hard for me to comment on this without talking politics.

To quote one of our esteemed moderators from the end of a closed thread just down the page: "Again, "no politics" actually means "no politics". Put another way, it might also interpreted as "no politics"; or perhaps looked at in a different light, it could also be understood as "no politics".

    It's really not rocket surgery."
