my friend has a bass amp that were trying to figure out what it is. It's a combo that is 100watts i think. It's very old and it looks like an ampeg because of the screen and there appears to be a logo ripped off of the top left corner where the ampeg logo goes. So we took it apart and found nothing except the word Marlboro on some of the electronics inside. Also it says the model on the front is 760A. We've done some searches and found that Marlboro makes amps but we cant find this one. Can anyone help us with some info on this amp? Heres a pic of it. Thanks
I have one of these cabinets, not the full amp. Appears to be the same (cabinet), using a 'folded horn' style port in the bottom and 2x piezo tweeters up top. When I obtained mine, it had a crack in the recessed plastic jack/switch plate which made it buzz at certain frequencies. Unable to find a suitable recessed replacement, I replaced it with a flush metal plate and new switchcraft jacks, wiring the tweeters 'on' permanently. Will try to get some pics up of it shortly... (old thread, maybe no one cares anymore)
What is it with the zombie threads lately? gearfreak, this thread is over 3 years old and the member who asked the question hasn't been active on Talkbass for over two years.
My 1st amp was 15 watt 1x10 Marlboro practice amp. It was a POS. It was cheap and got me through my 1 st year of playing.
Maybe it will help someone down the line... I was wondering what type of woofer is in mine. Attached are a few shots of the cab...
...and the woofer/code. magnet: M15N-1 67-8138 cone (not pictured): 120 (upside down) 45153-1 (looks like a 3, maybe an 8)
I had a Marlboro combo with a 15 that I think was something like 50 watts that I bough in '85 brand new; first rig. My buddy has it and plays his guitar through it a lot so he doesn't have to cart his Rivera around. Got it for two box tops and a couple bills. (Just to keep the jokes rolling.)
