    Price:
    6400.00
    Strings:
    5
    Location:
    Washington
For sale: EXCELENT condition custom built extremely RARE 5 string bass made by Gerald Marleaux in Germany. I also had him make a second neck that is fretless, which is currently on it, so you have the best of both worlds with 2 basses in 1. I just looked it over again and found no dings or scratches on it since its been sitting in my closet. Normal wear on the fretted fretbaord since that was on it longer. Marleaux is by far the most popular luthier in Germany, maybe Europe. Check out marleauxbass.com. I have had at least 6 of these and this one is in stunning condition and tone.

    · Excellent condition – only gigged a few times and been in my man cave

    · I believe the top wood is highly figured rosewood but I can’t remember for sure

    · Outrageous Mahaogony body core

    · Both necks are 3 piece construction for stability

    · The fretless neck and fret board is padouk which is how he makes most of his fretless basses. That’s the neck on it now.

    · Active 3 band programmable eq gives you ANY tone you want on the fly

    · Scrolling pickup selector to color tone even more

    · Pics taken in the sun and indoors for accurate color

    · The silver viens running thru the top wood is something he adds.

    · Rosewood control knobs added and you will also get the original silver ones

    · action is very low and clean

    · 34 inch scale neck for ease of play

    · on the fretless neck I had him make the side dots exactly where the fret would be with BIGGER dots in the 3rd,5th,7thetc positions for easier accuracy. Its brilliant!

    · soapbar Delano pups with active circuitry

    · Here is the reason some Marleaux basses are SO unique- some have a 3 band PROGRAMABLE eq. EACH band has 3 different frequencies which you can adjust in seconds between songs if you want. SO on the bass knob you can get 3 different bass frequencies and then it is still active to dial in even more of the exact sound you want. Hard to explain so look it up on the website. It is unbelievably unique and another expensive upgrade.

    · Lightweight – my scale says 8.2 pounds

    · Reunion blues heavily padded gigbag

    · ONLY ship to a U.S. address

    · No trades

    · Buy with confidence and assurance – I have over 775 positive feedback on ebay

    · Thanks again for looking! Bass will ship AFTER your payment fully clears.

    · Also being sold locally so could be gone at any time.

    · In NO hurry to sell so wont consider lowball offers. THIS will be the one I was dumb enough to sell!!!! You would feel the same way when you see and play it

Bump for a beautiful bass. Never owned a Marleaux but I think that body shape is the sexiest out there

Thanks. I completely agree. The shape was what first caught my eye when I first discovered these basses. The programable eq is also extremely unique. I;ve never seen that before.

Yes I agree. That, the shape and the construction are outrageous. I have had 4 or 5 Marleauxs and all were exceptional.

  12. It made you start farting lol?

It is a looker and I like how close the strings appear to be to the body, I bet it plays too

Hahaha, nah...you take the Beano to stave off gas before it occurs and that bass with both fretted and fretless options is giving me a serious case of GAS!

Yeah nice bass for sure. Heard great things about Marleaux. Another German luthier, Reiner Le Fey, also makes superb basses.
