Agreed, I use a Marshall B150 when recording, one of the nicest sounding combos i've ever played. I use the XLR output straight into the mixing desk, you can listen to one of the songs we recorded if you like :)
I've also got a Marshall B30 for practice in my room. They're really nice amps but the price can put people off, I get the feeling you do pay for the name. I'd say the B150 is your best choice :D
  4. The Laney R3 is better than both. I have used a Fender bassman 100 and liked it very much. I have had a Marshall B65, and I think they are underrated. But the Laneys (Lanies?) are better than both.
