have you ever tried the marshall all tube poweramp designed for guitars as poweramp for bass? i did with a peavy, an ampeg and an SWR bass preamp and the combo sounded killer. i tried the marshall 50+50 all tube poweramp.

  2. I personally have never tried that amp before, but I do own an old 400w intregated bass amp by marshall(model3540)which was a real workhorse for me for a long time.using it as a bass amp, moniter amp and a power amp for p.a. mains..now I still use it as a slave amp from my mesa\boggie to power my 2x10 cab while the boggie powers my 2x15 and it still sounds great...and the best part is that I only paid $135.00 for it back in '86(from a guy who really needed money)so if it sounds good to you..?....get it! just make sure it's going to be enough watts to compete with a guitar and a DRUMMER...
