What a beauty. What length strings do you put on that?

So these are standard 34" scale strings that are on it now?

I see on Public Peace's site that M5BN strings (45-125) come in two versions - short/medium and long. The strings on this Elwood appear to be the short/medium set, because the B taper starts between the nut and post as you can see from the pic.

How is the low B on this scale length?

One way to answer that is to point you to Maruszczyk's YouTube demo channel, where Adrian demos 10 years of various shorter-scale basses.

    https://www.youtube.com/user/PublicPeaceMI

Hearing the B on even some of his 30" models convinced me that a 32" would still have nice definition. One thing he does that might be counterintuitive is to ship it with a relatively light .125 B string. So that combined with the lower 32" tension does require a bit lighter touch on the B but once you adjust, it sounds great. Also, per advice various TB threads, before I ordered my first Maruszczyk I simulated what a 32" 4 and 5-string would sound and feel like by just tuning a 34" down a half-step and capo-ing at the 1st fret.

Hope that helps and thanks for the interest.

Your bass would be in Montreal right now if it wasn’t for the prohibitive shipping and custom fees.

good luck with the sale. An amazing bass!
