Hey guys I dont know if this is the right place for this so mods feel free to move it. I was wondering if anyone on this board has had any experiences with a studio in Hamilton, Ontario called Mastermind Studios. They approached my band and what they are talking about sounds too good to be true. Also if anyone has worked with their partner company Another Big Show or tinHOUSE records? Any help would be great. We just wanna make sure they are for real and arent going to screw us over.

    Thanks

My band was going to take the trip to Hamilton to record in their studio. Since we were going out of our way to record they gave us a pretty good deal and they also sent us a demo cd. The recordings on this cd were awesome and if this place was a little closer to us we probably would of recorded with them. They seem legit and their recordings are great quality. Once we told them that we are not gonna record at their studio, they kept trying to get us to come down. It was hard to say no to them since they were offering a good deal but the location was not convenient for us and we did not have enough $.

What kind of prices are they offering to you?

  3. My band has played a few shows for their promotions deal. They were pretty straight up with us. Even understood that we don't sell tickets before a show and accomodated that.

Umm i believe they said like 1650 for a 6 song E.P fully recorded and mixed and mastered and then another 1200 to get 500 copies made with cases and artwork and whatnot. they seem pretty good and Dave was who we were talking to seems awesome. But we decided we are just gonna get the 6 song we have already recorded mass produced and then get shows and stuff. they seem legit but it seemed really too good to b true.

They seem like a good place to go and that is a good price for a 6 song demo. Best of luck.
