I've got a few questions regarding a brand new tube set I bought for my Ampeg SVT-cl (2007). Here is the tube set, http://www.rototubes.com/Ampeg-SVT-Classic-Power-Tungsol-Tube-Set.html ...

Now, it says right in the description that they are a matched sextet, which is required for the SVT, only question is I have no idea which three are matched with each other or does that even matter?
Also, I did a little research before I bought these tubes and MOST people say they work in the SVT-CL with nothing more than a re-biasing. Have you guys run into any issues running the Gold Lion KT88's in these rigs? I was wondering if tube clearance or heat becomes an issue with this "upgrade"... Any guidance is appreciated

In a matched sextet all 6 have tolerances that are very close to the others.

  6. I've got (JJ) KT88's in my CL now. First set that wasn't 6550's and absolutely the best tubes I've ever had in there. Worst tubes I ever had in my amp was a set of Tung-sol 6550's. Two tubes failed within two weeks. When I went back to the shop where I bought them, they told me they had stopped carrying them because of the failure rate. Probably just a bad batch and nothing to do with your KT88's.

Note: while all six of your tubes are matched to each other, the amp only cares about (2) triplets of matching tubes.
