    If there was a connection between music and maths, we'd have metric music by now using a ten note system.

    Applying the decimal system to music seems highly arbitrary to me.

    Music is a physical phenomenon. Math is 'the language of physics'. Thus, there must be a strong connection between music and math - at least on the descriptive level.
