i love the Matt Garrison siggy Fodera. its one of the few signature models i wouldnt mind owning myself. alot like the way i feel about Gibson's Les Paul.

its a sig model, but its combination of looks, feel, and sound have transcended its owners aesthetic, and into the players' as a whole.

what other signature basses do that?

Hmm. Sting Precision? Flea Modulus? No, I can see you're being serious...

His bass is just a modded Imperial, which he did not design. I fail to see how you can compare him to Les Paul who actually is an inventive designer.

I agree - the Les Paul guitar was not really a signature model, but rather a design concept.

I would say that the Roscoe beck signature is a much better example of a bass that has been completely re-designed to make something better for everybody - a better Fender 5 string Jazz! :)

  5. Boy Joker, you're really in for a roasting with this thread. ;)

I think Gary Willis had quite a large personal input with the design of his Ibanez sig. model a few years ago...

Heyheyhey, no need to feel attacked.
I think it's great when you feel excited about a bass, but let's "keep the church in the village" as we say in German.
