Garrison is going on tour with the Jimmy Herring Band, the lineup is incredible Jimmy Herring - Guitar, Matt Garrison - Bass, Scott Kinsey - Keys, Jeff Sipe - Drums and Greg Osby - Sax. Holy crap. I'm going to the show on the 21st in San Diego. Anyone else as stoked for this as I am? I'm already gearing up for him to sign my bass. Mehehe.

i believe i am doing backline for herring, garrison, and the boys at telluride jazz, unless they are traveling with there own gear... in which case i can geek out from the wings of the stage.

  10. Thanks for that clip, bottomzone. Wow...a lot happening there, but I enjoyed it. I love Jeff Sipe's playing, and I've always been a fan of the way he tunes his drums. As much as I really enjoy Matthew Garrison, I'd love to hear this ensemble with Oteil.

I found that clip a few days ago and it's amazing. It's very reminiscient of the Jarzombek's work (if it were fusion and not metal)

Side note... Sipe is a great drummer, friendly cat and I'm fortunate to have had the oppty to play a clinic with him... man, I was nervous.
