I knew he had been sick a while, but this is still so sad!
2016 is shaping up to be a rough year for musicians.

He had been in pretty bad health for a while, but 74 sure beats 54.

Yeah, he'd been living with Parkinson's for more than twenty years.

His band was one of my musical core influences, I basically grew up musically with them. I've missed him for a long time and now he's at peace. A true groundbreaker.

    What an innovative beautiful person.

    (Sigh)

Hug your family, mend fences, and stop putting off bucket list concerts people. Something is in the air this year.

  10. Just saw the news...this saddens me. EW&F is still one of my all-time favorite bands. Been diggin'their music for over 35 years.

When I first signed up for Facebook about five years ago, and not knowing anything abut how to navigate it, I came upon Mr. White's Facebook page or account while looking into some EWF stuff online.

I thought I'd share with him just how important his band's music had been for most of my life. Rather gushy stuff, as I recall. I thought I had sent it just to him, but ended up sending to everyone. Slightly embarrassing.

In hindsight, I'm not even sure I sent him anything.

All 'n' All will be spinning tonight!

This is shaping up to be a rough year for "seasoned" musicians. Sucks.

I can't even begin to quantify what Maurice White means to me as a musician and as a person, so I won't even try. I will say that this is right up there with the passing of James Brown for me.

R.I.P., Maurice. Thank you for everything.
