Max gauge speaker cable for speakon connectors?

    What is the thickest speaker cable you can use with speakon connectors? I know there are ones made by Neutrik and ones made by Switchcraft.

    I've heard that 10 gauge is the maximum. Also, which speakon connectors are better, the Switchcraft ones or the Neutrik ones? Does each brand have different models, or is there just one speakon connector each brand?

    Some people prefer Switchcraft, but Neutrik is the original.
