which one of these do you guys like better? they are both in the same price range...

    pro: watery, mu-tron-like sound

    con: volume increase when on

    bass iq

    pro: ...good...?

con: not as funky as a mu-tron, possibly. also, a bit more expensive.

so...what would you recommend? i know that at least one of you has'em both...

I prefer the AF-9. I've played the EBS but thought the Maxon was a little more lush & versatile. The volume issue is no biggie, if it bothers you that much, just roll the volume down on your bass a bit when in use.

i've never played the AF-9, and my experience with the bass iq is such that i might as well have never played it.

in a search, i came up with that info, and some people are using loopers with volume controls as a technique to solve the volume problem.

turning the volume down seems like a much cheaper solution! :D

    thanks for your input.
