I have a G&L SB-2 and am looking for a second bass with a more punchy/modern sound i.e. MM Stingray.

Would like a J neck on a solid body bass w/humbucker(s) or similar soapbar pup. I'm familair with the G&L lineup (Climax, L-1500, L2K). Any other mfg recommendations?

Musicman Sterling dual pick up coming in November I think. Will fit your bill :)
  3. Warmoth is always another option if you want to build one yourself. Or you could have someone like Nino Valenti build one for you. His work is top notch.

You could also look at the Fender Roscoe Beck bass. It comes in 4 and 5 string models.

    That describes the Lakland 55-02, 55-94, or their 4 strings 44-02, 4-94

    Thanks for the recommendations...
Checked out a MM Sterling, nice but not what I would call a J neck. Both the Fender Roscoe and Zone basses are beautiful! Ditto on the Lakland. Still looking for that punchy backup. Checking out the used market for fundage reasons.
