Saw this on the Washington DC Craigslist:

    1978 Fender Precision Bass
    - American-made
    - Double cutaway solid body
    - Adler body, Maple neck, Maple fingerboard
    - Single-coil split pickup with level pole pieces, black plastic pickguard, 34-inch scale length, dot inlays
    - Sunburst finish
    - Like new condition; recently professionally tuned.
    - Includes hard case

    No trades; cash only.
I also have a Peavey TKO 65 amplifier that I will throw in for $50 if interested.

Bold font added by me. Just when you think they can't get any dumber. :rollno:

I've played with people whose instruments were tuned by amateurs. Not good, not good at all.

Yes, bad word choice. Probably a novice. Perhaps the seller meant "recent professional setup". ;)

    Thank you for your indulgence,

This ad isn't that bad. There are WAY worse out there.

"recently professionally tuned"?? Must be a car guy...
  7. Yup. On a scale of 1 to 10, this is a 3-4, and there's plenty of 'em in the 7-8 range at any given moment. Much worse out there.

i've been truck shopping on CL and it's scary as hell. i better stick with Truck Trader. one ad specified that the Interior was a 9 out of 10, but the picture they posted DISAGREED!!! the interior looked condemned, lol.
then they claimed the Exterior was also a 9/10,... NOT!!!
i mean,.. who does that??? contradicting your own Ad, lmao. :eyebrow:

Yeah, I know; I'm one of them. I do "tune ups" on cars (well, mostly motorcycles, now) - not "set ups" ....;)

The rest of the ad seems fairly intelligent, maybe just a brain fart.

There was one here recently that clearly said "5 string" bass - with multiple pictures very clearly showing a 4 strings.
Also one for a "Wooden" bass guitar - it was an Ibanez with natural finish. Price was about 50% high too.

That could also mean intonation was adjusted.
