Maybe I was a bit impulsive?

I owned this bass for a few hours a few weeks ago. I ended up returning it because I did not like my interaction with the local GC where I bought it.

I accidentally listened to the forty second video last night and the bass sounded great. Maybe I should have cooled off before acting. Oh well, someone else got a good deal, maybe I ended up being a blessing to someone else.:)

Ooooh is that like a MTD stingray 5 configuration!? Very nice. Maybe they still have it in stock? :)

It's never wrong sticking to your principals and protecting your integrity.

I certainly left a store or backed out of a deal after learning that the other party didn't deserve my money.

I’m glad you said that! I did feel disrespected, and not having this bass has not kept me from making music!

Sounds like you did the right thing for you.personal integrity is important! Something better will come along that works better for you. I have worked hard to develop patience and not let impulsiveness influence my decisions.

That second vid did sound good though.

I can’t hurt an entity as big as GC, but don’t have to be a doormat either.

I refuse to give 'Not Bass Guitar Center' my money, ever. Bravo!

I always though "disrespect" was GC's stock-in-trade. Countering same is mine.

Diplomacy > telling someone to go-to-hell and having them smile as they walk the distance.

‘I’m a firm believer when dealing with bad public relation the best thing is to hit them in the wallet. With regards to instruments, there are basses for sale 24-7 365 days a year, and more than a few of them are probably nicer that this one. In your case, it just wasn’t to be.

I applaud your thinking of this bass becoming a blessing for someone else. It could very well be that possibility as preordained.

For me, GC is the musical WalMart.

    Consider yourself warned.

I frequently get rid of things that I associate an unpleasant memory with. Things are just things, and if it means taking a financial or opportunity ding just to keep a bad vibe out of my life, I'll gladly take it. You did the right thing. Cheaper than a therapist. :) ...cue Della Reese singing No Bad News ...

I could go both ways. My rule of thumb is not to let my ego get in the way of a great deal. Sometimes I’ve been ringing up an amazing deal with employees talking poopie and I realize it’s because they want me to storm off without buying that cheap gear they wanted to flip in their off hours. I’ll “feel disrespected” all the way to the bank.
But if it wasn’t an amazing deal and they’re still rude then you can rebuy another one from someone else if you actually need that thing. No use doing business with jerks if it doesn’t benefit you enough to be worth your time and feelings.

Great deals come and go; sometimes gear we weren’t initially impressed with ends up being the most valued. None of these objects is worth losing too much thought.

You could have kept it and written a revenge song with it.
