    Hello,
I need to refinish the headstock of a Squire. Want to clear gloss it. Just wanting opinions on a headstock decal idea. Was thinking of the gold Fender logo with smaller Made by Squier text in black underneath it. No intention to mislead. Would just look better to me and as long as I am redoing the headstock. Where might one get one?

Go to Walmart and get a waterslide decal kit. Do your own graphics and print it off yourself.

I did one for a 8 string octave mando made from a Squier Mini-strat:

If you aren't trying to mislead, why are you putting "Fender" on a bass that isn't? Either keep the original logo, or come up with something unique.

  5. Hmmm... mini-Strat to octave mando? As if I didn’t have enough offbeat projects! Are there more details somewhere? Specifically, what did you use for a bridge?

Ok, derail done while I hit eBay.

You can find a water slide decal that says “shagger” in a Fender-esqe font on Etsy

    Howdy Fuzzfarmer,
That is interesting. That is original, correct? I would like mine to look like that. Yours was made in Korea, mine are from Indonesia. May eventually change the body as it is very heavy and I don't believe made of standard Fender style woods along with the pickups, pots, output jack etc!!!!!

I've seen Squier's that have the large Fender logo with a small "by Squier" underneath. I think the OP wants to use this because it looks better. I have no issue with it. As long as it says "Squier" its legit as far as I'm concerned.

Leave it blank … keeps everyone guessing

or, cut it into a Tele style … that would be a 'new idea' … except for mine ;)

I personally don't like to put a Fender logo (or another brand's name) on a bass that is not. Now that would be misleading if you care about that. If I had to put something on it, it'd be my name (which is the case with my fretless).

You can't put a big logo of Fender on a bass which isn't Fender.

Sorry, I don't get it. How does it look different, other than to suggest to OP and others that it is really a Fender (with a tiny "Squier" underneath he hopes no need notices)? This thread comes up often, and I've never gotten an answer to this. It's not a Fender by Squier, it's a Squier by Fender.

I have 4 basses - two say Fender, one says Lull, and one says Bulldog Bass Company. Other than a couple not being familiar with Lulls or Bulldogs (my own build), no one has ever commented on the looks of my instruments in over 30 years of playing.
