hey all.. i really love the main groove in "me and my bass guitar" by Vic Wooten...but i just cant seem to work it out... (first played from the start of the 17th second to just before the start of the 19th second...then continued) will somebody be kind enough to give me a detailed write-up on how to play it? hopefully... Spiral
I can't give you a write up or anything, but what he's doing from I remember is doing the open hammer pluck. Just with different Rhythms. And a million freggin mutes.
yeah, i understand that...its just where do the mutes go?!...its so confusing... i'll go have a crack at it again
Heh, I just learned the main riff to this song last night, got it down pretty near perfect tonight. The way I did it is with guitar pro. It's really not that hard, the only thing is the rhythm, but it's the same thing over and over again so it's not too complex or anything.
would be great if you could mail me it, too! my email is [email protected] or if you want to transfer it via MSN, that would be fine. thanks dood!
that guitar pro tab isn't fully accurate. but its a decent start, and the fast mute bit is totally wrong. theres aa video called victor wooten solo on kazaa that shows it properly.
The version at http://www.basstabarchive.com/cgi-bin/tab.cgi?tab=w/wooten_victor/me_and_my_bass_guitar.btab has a pretty detailed explanation.
do the actual notes by just left hand tapping, i do this with my middle and ring finger and use my index for muting and then the right hand will slap and pop on muted strings. thats how i do and i checked out the tab posted above this, and it seems to agree. but tahts the gist for the main groove. once you get into the tapping and the chorus and whatnot, its a different story
