Meatloaf!

Discussion in 'Off Topic [BG]' started by bassteban, Oct 5, 2005.

  1. The dish, not the singer. My lovely wife(of 12 years yesterday)just made some(for the first time, believe it or not), & I'm lovin' it! Of course, I am very hungry- maybe it's only OK...
    Your thoughts?

  2. I like meatloaf, unless it's chunky. :meh:

  3. Now I understand- she put some killer Italian sausage in it! IMO it hardly qualifies as mere meatloaf now. *BUUURP* :p

Meatloaf is best when it includes layers of bacon and cheese and is topped with A1 sauce.

You're in Northern Cali, check out the San Francisco Chronicle Cook Book. It has a hispanic meatloaf recipe that ROCKS! It takes a long time to make with all the veggies but it is awesome.

It works really well with ground turkey or chicken.
It has endless possibilities, as long as you stick to the
    homemade stuff.

My wife makes it with diced onions. Mmmmm. Then I slather
it with a little Bertoli Tomato and Basil sauce and my secret
recipe tangy sauce, which I can only reveal after The Qintar
is found, so he doesn't steal it.

Do a search on the Food Network's website for Alton Brown's Meatloaf recipe. It's absolutely the best I've ever had. For years I didn't really like meatloaf and now I make this once a month. It's really good.
