    hopefully this'll make sense....after listening to mostly pure groove stuff for a few years. i find that the melodic side of my played needs to improved. i've been getting into metheny but i'm ISO more recordings that showcase "the other side of music".....any recomendations?

    I know what you're saying, but I won't make any specific reccomendations. Just go wherever you flow to musically... if you need somewhere to start, most jazz aside from what you probably already know to be more groove oriented is good.
