I'm going to be visiting Memphis next week and I want to know if anyone can tell me what stores to go to to look at the GOOD STUFF.

Not looking for your fenders or the standard SWR and Ampeg stuff. I prefer the high end, harder to find - Fodera, MTD, Epi, Berg, you know - BOUTIQUE.

Martin Music in the Germantown/Cordova area is just the sort of place you described.

Strings & Things in downtown Memphis also carries a good selection of high-end stuff. This used to be THE music store in Memphis, but they expanded into a much-too-large facility just before Guitar Center came to town ... bad move.

While you can't buy direct from them, the Gibson factory might be worth a visit. Don't know how much you'll get to see though, since they normally accept tour requests only for groups.

Also hit up Fireside Music. Small, new store, but definitley worth a visit. One of the most popular places by far, though, here in Memphis is easily the local Guitar Center.
