So I got a Nate Mendel P bass about 4 months ago and love everything about the bass but quickly found that the SPB3 pickup was a awesome bed room sound and disappeared in a band. I also found the stock tuners slipping a lot so it got my upgrade wheels in motion. So I purchased a Geezer EMG pickup and some Gotoh GBR640 tuners this week and put on a new pickguard.

The tuners made a really good dent in the neck dive and the Geezers made such a difference that in band practice tonight they thought I’d turned up and the gain on these sound lower than the SPB3’s. So needless to say I’m a happy camper.

I agree, Geezers are the best "in the mix" P pickup I've heard.

Good choice :D Although I do know a guy who plays bass and sings with the Grass Roots who loves the SPB-3 because he doesn't like mids. Works for him I guess, but I'll take the Geezer.
