    Hi Guys, and gals :)

I could use some input from you on a choice I might make soon. I am playing on an Eden WT800 with a mesa boogie 2x10 and 1x15. It sounds fine but I think I am looking for a stonger low end sound that only a tube amp can deliver - so here are my options so far...
    1. Trade the Eden in for the Mesa Boogie 400 + with the 2x10 and the 1x15 that would rock.

    2. Buy the Ashdown Combo AMB500 use it for smaller gigs - and use the power from the Eden WT 800 for bigger gigs with the 2x10 and 1x15 speakers.

I have heard good things about Ashdown - I even went and tried the ABM300 combo and was impressed.

Would like to hear from the Mesa users and those who have Ashdown in their rigs.

    Thanks

I used to own a 400+ and let me say it was the loudest amp I've played yet! Gut-shaking lows and great tone. It's very heavy, but not as bad as an SVT. I have heard good things about Ashdown, but have never tried one myself.

I would opt for #1 unless you can afford to buy the 400+ outright. I think it's extremely unlikely that you would be disappointed in the low-end "grunt" of a 400+. My favorite amp and I own the Eden WT800 (and 400), too. I occasionally haul a '70 SVT so weight is not an issue with me. I do use a full-size Dodge Ram pickup truck, however. If you get the 400+ you should give serious consideration to the Mesa Boogie SUS4 rack they make for the amp. It's the best way to protect it for gigging although it does add a lot of weight.
