The Mesa 400+ is used (it's acutally my old amp, but that's a long story), I can get that for aroudn 700 bones.

The new traynor woudl be right around the 600 mark, what you buy and why?

I've never played on the Mesa (but would like to), But Im happy with my YBA...AFTER the switch to Kt-88's and new preamp tubes, that is. That'll add @ 175.00 to the price if you go that route. I got my head through rockcityguitars, tubes through eurotubes. Plus, with thier 2 year unlimited warranty, its a good deal in my opinion.
