have you run a mesa bass 400+ w ampeg cabs, i havent got the chanse to turn it up loud, i been looking for sum reviews on this matter but i havent find any one runing this kind of set up, can you give me sum imput on this matter, i have have read great things about the cabs and amp but not on how they sound together, tnx Oscar
I used to run this exact set up when I was gigging a few years back. It was great. All the power you'll need and fantastic tone. I sold the amp when the back broke up and regretted it since. I think you'll love it.
Eulogy, please take the time to actually type out a coherent post, and please, stop spamming threads.
Thanks, BBB. I thought it was just me... I saw what you did there Fealach! I'm LMAO, no, wait, wait. I have a question. I have a Mesa 400+ and a Berg NV610. I used to wonder how they sounded together and then I ran a cable from the head to the cab. An additional cable was needed from the bass to the head but I was up to that challenge. Nothing happened when I turned the head on but then I figured out that there was ANOTHER cable that I had to plug into the wall. These modern thingamajibs are very, very sneaky. I would like to know what it sounds like turned up. What are all these knobs for? Thanks for your help.
Uhoh... I had to bang it real hard on the ground to get all that broken glass out that someone had stashed in the back of the amp. What a stupid way to carry a bunch of shot glasses around. Sheesh, some people...
The best way to clean out a tube amp is hot soapy water and a brillo pad. Make sure to leave it plugged in so you can periodically test it for function while cleaning it.
so instead of answering the question you just reply w other than that, what was the point of that, come on BBB
So instead of waiting for a response in your first thread, or taking the time to actually type out a coherent post, you just spam threads? What was the point of that? Come on eulogy77...
Welcome to talkBass eulogy77, They're basically ganging up and picking on the new guy like the jocks back in high school that snapped guys on the a$$ in the gym locker room. Their doing this because you double posted your rather poorly worded and misspelled question just like lots and lots of other new guys have done here before you. (dont feel bad, you'll get better and it probably makes them feel better about their own short cummings... I understand its always nice to read about others using the same gear so I searched around for ya. It sounds like a guy here named "v-12" used to gig this paring. I've included his home page link and a quote he made. If v-12 doesn't reply to this thread, I'd suggest you P/M or email him asking for any other insight he might be willing to share on this pairing. His post seems like he's probably a helpful knowledgeable guy. http://www.talkbass.com/forum/member.php?u=54009 I let a buddy use my 400+ at a gig we both played with his 410 HLF. He loved his HLF with his solid state amps but his tweeter made some trully horrible sounds with my 400+. If your cabs have a horn level control knob, I suggest you try switching both off or possibly doing what ever is necessary to correctly disable them. ps: I'm not the best at using corect grammar either, but to avoid the wrath of other grammar police patrolling this forum... Look into downloading or using your computers current spell check feature. (I'd be lost without mine) You might also study how others group their thoughts into sentences with periods, question marks and paragraphs instead of just using commas.
thanks anderbass, ill try to email him and ask him about his experience with his gear similar to mine
