Looking for a top grill on a Mesa 1516.......any ideas where one could be located......or material to maybe fabricate? Been searching auction sites with no luck. IMG_20160611_133606199.

You could at least have a matching set made by Reliable Hardware, not sure how close to an exact match their options come.

If you can't get a good match, replace both from Reliable Hardware. The grill isn't too bad, it's the shipping that's expensive, but adding an additional grill does not impact it that much.

Yeah, I'm actually thinking about individual speaker covers , basicly to protect the speakers from the kids, ha. May be a cheaper and easier way to go.

If you've got any metal-supply shops in your town, you'd probably find they'd stock serveral different varieties of perforated metal, and that they would sell/cut you a section to the exact size you need.

The type your Mesa grill was made of is called 'Square Hole Perforated Metal":
square hole perforated metal mesh - Google Search

Also, It kinda looks like a grill from one of the older Mesa 4x10 Diesel-series cabs might interchange, if Mesa still has any of those in stock...

  9. Don’t use the cabinet until that hole is filled.

Not going to.....but what problems would it pose? Not questioning at all, just want to be educated on the subject , .Thanks
  12. The hole would detune the cabinet and lead to woofer failure. If the missing driver has a box around it the woofer would be safe.

It mostly does; the missing 10" shares only space with the 6"s. The upper half and lower of that 1516 cab are separate.
  16. Thanks for clearing that up. :)

Crappiest sounding cabinet ever made. Just send me your address and leave it out by the road, I'll swing by and take care of it for you.
