Mesa Boogie Throttle Box??

Discussion in 'Effects [BG]' started by frankegcbass, Mar 26, 2013.

  1. So I'm sitting here eating some breakfast and checking out some youtube clips and came across Mr.Excane's demo for the Mesa Boogie Throttle Box. It sounds pretty brutal. It's always hard to tell on youtube demos, but it seems like there is no low end loss. Anyone have one yet, or know anything about them? I'm guessing it's new. Check it out.

I tried the Grid Slammer which is the more gentle version. Through an Ampeg or GK it sounded really great. Through a Mesa, it was piercing and somewhat painful. If the Throttle Box is heavier than the Grid Slammer, I would keep that in mind. I didn't notice much of any bottom end loss.

  3. I tried all of the Mesa pedals just when they came out, didn't find any of them to be very good for bass.

I thought it sounded pretty good around 2:04...lower gain setting...warmer and less brutal...
