    Hello Talkbass,

I have a Mesa PH 610 and absolutely love it.
If I buy a PH210, will that give me the same tone/color as the PH610 but in a smaller package?

Idea is to use PH210 for recording/rehearsal, PH610 for gigs.

    Cheers

Depends on how loud your rehearsals are.
    But it's the same sound.

    Too much hip thrust
I owned the PH210 and thought it was fine, but I really like the PH112 (which seems to weigh half as much and has a fantastic tight clear sound).

Similar, but at nowhere near the same maximum volume.

    It won't sound the same.
    Well kinda...
    But

    Why chase it.

Get a 2x12 and add to the arsenal.
Get big block Chevy. And blow it up with nitrous

Come on man you already got 10s

I haven't played through the PH210, but my gut tells me it has roughly the same tone as the PH610. Obviously it won't have as much volume, but it would be excellent for band rehearsals.

It's unfortunate, yet understandable that Mesa discontinued the Powerhouse cabinets. The majority of players are leaning towards lighter amp heads and cabinets.

I happily own a pair of PH212s. IMO they're superb. I had been looking for another pair of them, but when I found out my local Mom & Pop music store had a PH610, I made a beeline to play through it.

I can't wait to bring it home, add it to my PH212s setup, and have the neighbors call the cops on me.
