Thinking about getting one of these for the combination of HPF, DI, and some tone controls (preamp). I read the manual and am wondering if there is an option to send a 1/4" to another preamp input. It seems the 1/4" "Preamp Out" is a bit too hot for a preamp (the manual recommends going into FX return for power amp use). Or is this acceptable, just turning down the input gain on the 2nd preamp (my own Class D head) to account for the +4 or +6 extra dB?

I have reasons for wanting to use both EQ on the preamp as well as my amp head, they're centered around different frequencies and combined with the Mesa, I would have so many combinations of tone shaping or adjusting for different rooms, stages, etc.

According to the manual, the THRU output sounds like it is exactly that, unaffected signal, without the effects of the preamp pedal. Please let me know if I'm interpreting the manual incorrectly.

    Thanks!

Can't believe no one answered this. Yes you were interpreting that correct.
Screw signal is lame and not processed whatsoever.
Back preamp signal is super hot.

Went with a different preamp/DI, couldn’t be happier!
