messa boogie walkabout scout

    hi
    has any body out there used a 4ohm walkabout with a 8 ohm extention cabinet running
    at 2.6ohms without over heating and loss of power

    .. just be careful with the 4 ohm, (I assume Scout cab), because it will be getting the larger portion of the available power, compared to the 8 ohm cab. The WA amp will run 2.6 ohms all day without a problem, awesome amp.

    An 8ohm replacement speaker is $119 through Mesa Boogie. It helps to keep the 4ohm speaker from farting out. Worth the investment.
    Mesa will run no problem at 2.6
     
  5. I thought Mesa had recently stopped using the Eminence Deltalite II 2512 and moved to a heavier ceramic driver.

    I'm not sure it would be so easy just buy a 8 ohm replacement from Mesa.
     
  6. I'd like to know--sounds like a good solution: new speaker and an extension 112 cab. I may have to try that.
