Metal Cabs

Discussion in 'Amps and Cabs [BG]' started by Insomniac, Jun 9, 2002.

  1. hello
I need some advice on Cab Selection. I am getting rid of my SWR workingmans 2X10t and am looking for a good sounding cab that can cut throught thick metal and has some head room(i plan to sell my head later, which is a SWR Wrokingmans 2004 head) Do Ampegs really cut throught or are they kinda muddy?
    Thanks

Well, m'boy, Ampegs grind like very few cabs. They have a great "gritty" tone that a lot of guys go for. Personally, though I find the metal cab of choice is the Eden D-410XLT. They have a low/mid push that makes them cut through everything like a knife, while still retaining the low end. Great cabs.

an ampeg 810 will do the trick as well, though i usually like them more for straight up rock.
