I think ESP and yes, even some LTD's are so under rated, it's not even funny.... Ok, it is kind of funny, because for $295 I just picked up a 2000 model TA-500. This is a beautiful neck through bass with EMG HZ's and an EMG active preamp! Funny cause I LOVE this bass - besides its SO METAL!!! So who else rocks an ESP??? Let's see em! Here's mine... well at least it's one like it - too lazy to go get a pic at the moment
Some might take it the wrong way. And yes, I love cake to. But it's unnesecary do go with those types of jokes. It's like if I made a title with a ni**er joke. Some will take it, and Bill Cosby will go nuts!
Really?!?! Comparing the n-word with a well known social euphamism (and in most normal circles a funny and exceptable one)??? ANYWAYS.... I'm kind of done with this.... What a thread kill Can we move on? Does anyone want to post a pic of their esp?
Ouch, someone's getting whacked with the ban-stick for that. I'm a fat kid, I love cake and metal, but I can't get into the ESP/LTDs to save my life! I'm stuck in Fender-land. I can totally appreciate the instrument, but it's just not for me.
Don't like the sound. Love the guitars, though. Pepper from Down plays a cheap LTD, and he sounds magnificent. Give me Warwick or Spector any day.
I'm metalhead, i like cake although i'm not fat at all lol . And really don't get into ESP/LTD, it look cool and seems like fit good for Metal for its appearance but the sound does not, i did have some LTDs like F-4e, D-4, D-5, used to love the look but never felt satisfied with the sound, so i sold it out. I made a record with these LTDs and a cheap Squier J bass, and the J cut thru the mix, give me some punchy sound that i want. P/S: but i think ESP version is far better than the LTDs.
The Tom Araya ESP/LTD's are the only thing by ESP that I like. The rest is just too mediocre in my opinion.
LTD's do i fine job for metal but they're the cheaper option, if you want real metal tone that cuts through the mix buy a warwick or spector for sure.
Yeah, for the price of both brands you commended, how can it go wrong ? I think the thread is going to talk about some "good bang for the bucks" stuffs not to comment about some hi-end basses. For the price that i used to got D-5 Ltd bass (about 450 bucks), i think we should go for Schecter basses .
Racial jokes are on a whole different level to fat jokes. I think you're overreacting. I used to be an absolute porker (in fact I still am!) and I foudn the title pretty funny.
I can't help but to think of Araya when I see ESP/LTD . He has a great sounding bass, so perhaps thats why. I like the looks and sounds, but I am more partial to Music Man type sounds. P.S. Cake ftw! (Not mine)
Well, I don't have it yet, but I have this on layaway at the local shop! I play metal, and I'm fat, and I LOVE cake (especially with ice cream!)
Here's me playing my B-2005 30th anniversary 4-string. It looks tough with being all satin black with an ebony fretboard. Just recently, though, I bought a 2008 Am St Jazz V.. I will be selling the B-2005 soon.. haha. And yes.. Cake is delicious!
I like the ESP vintage P/J bass (it is expensive though) but after playing a LTD at a jam night (not sure which one), I have decided that metal for me sounds better IMO with 5 string Stingrays or 4 string Fenders. To each their own. P.S. I am more partial to pie FWIW, then cake.
