Has anyone else heard the rumor that the lean that MJ does toward the end of this video was done without any "help?" My fiancee and I are having an argument: She says it's impossible to lean like that and I say, "It's Michael Jackson! He frequently defies all laws of physics!" I swear I've heard several different people mention that that lean was all him (actually, all them, since there are several dancers involved). Help!
She says it's impossible to lean like that It is. physics man, Check out the CentreOfGravity. There's cables and trickery afoot.
Didn't he make a mini-movie out of that video? If I can recall correctly, he was this dude who owned a music store and took care of this kids. At the end he turns into this robot that shoots missles.
Most of Jacko's videos are mini movies; "Thriller", "Blood Is On The Dancefloor", "Bad", ... I don't really remember all of the "Smooth Criminal" video, only that most of it plays in a bar and Jacko's a gangster wearing a white/creme suit and hat. @ LiquidMidnight
Of course it is possible.. Victor Wooten can lean like that too.. And while playing bass!! I saw him doing it in a Bela Fleck concert they put on Direct TV.. and he used some special device of course. The funny thin is that he only used it once.. ANYWAY! It's impossible to do such thing without the help of any cables or stuff.. yup
Yeah, I saw Vic do it live as well. He used some...metal...platform...thing...with some sort of spoke sticking out which he somehow attached to the heels of his shoes. Or something like that. I was on the upper level of the audience area, so I didn't see it too clearly.
Victor did the lean right in front of me at his solo show last fall (I could have played his Fodera with him as it was about 2 ft from me), but the trick there was the 3 other band members (his brothers) behind him singing and holding on to him as he leaned. -KB
Moonwalker rules, it was one of my fav flicks as a kid. There was a Sega Megadrive game made from the movie, or actually from the coin version, too. But I would think the lean is rigged, as in the video a whole lotta dancers do it simultaineously. Ah, those times when Michael was still a cool guy..
