Michael Rhodes ?

  1. I spy with my little eye,
    unless I'm much mistaken ,
    a young, once-hirsute Michael Rhodes,
    bringing home the bacon...

I love his stuff, especially with Randall Bramblett and just about any other artist he shares the stage/studio with.

Great song, great bass line! Love the Kramer Ferrington ABG, too!

Now this right here is one of the best rock'n'roll bands I've ever seen; it happens to be mostly populated by old bald guys, including, of course, Mr. Rhodes, but the music speaks for itself.

Pat McLaughlin Live At The Coupe.

Wow. Just watch him: He's keeping track of everybody. And that pretty descending lick at the end...

He is so cool, and Stuart Smith is too! I briefly met Rhodes at a NAMM show around this time, at the Guild booth (I was a Guild dealer) and had a little chat with him. Nice guy, very focused, and he advised me to pay lots of attention to Tommy Cogbill. Thanks for sharing this.

Talk about reviving an old thread..... Last night saw this amazing fellow with Joe Bonamassa. I have never seen a player with such a fluid motion with his hands on the fret board. And his groove showed it. The man was a study in the beauty of our chosen art. What a player.

Love Michael Rhodes! His work with The Players is simply perfect. A master class in note length.
