Helsinki, Finland - Three years ago, Darkglass Electronics released the Microtubes 900, an uncompromising, light, versatile and unapologetically loud bass amplifier.

Now, a thousand days after the first Microtubes amplifier saw the light of day, Darkglass is proud to announce the next steps in their bass amplification evolution: Microtubes 900 v2 and Alpha·Omega 900.

Microtubes 900 v2 features both of Darkglass’ celebrated Microtubes engines. From the powerful dynamic saturation circuit from the B3K to the classic overdriven tone from the Vintage Microtubes, clean, vintage and aggressive metal tones are only a stomp away.
Alpha·Omega 900’s dual drive engine takes bass saturation to a new dimension: Alpha is punchy, tight with a lot of definition, whereas Omega is brutal and raw. Paired with the studio-grade VCA compressor, six-band graphic EQ and an obnoxiously loud 900-watt power section make for a monstrous amplifier with earth-shattering tone.

Either of Darkglass’ signature drive engines adds incredible girth and size to the overdriven signal, but the addition of a studio-grade VCA compressor adds an extra layer of control and the ultra-quiet 6-band graphic equalizer will help sculpt the tone from aggressive and overdriven, to crystal clear clean.

Whatever your tone needs may be, both models feature all the options the modern, professional bassist needs in a compact, sleek and powerful format.

Both amplifiers also feature MIDI for channel switching, and muting programmability, impulse response cabinet simulation, with up to three different storable virtual cabinets, auxiliary input, and headphone output, making the Microtubes 900 v2 and Alpha·Omega 900 not only among the most complete amplifier solutions for the touring musician, but also the ideal tools for silent practicing.

These cats know how to make contemporary works of art that also put out incredible bass tone. I'm enjoying just staring at them.

Yet still no true rack-mount ability.
    I just don't understand.
Yeah, they could be bolted or velcro-ed to a rack shelf...
...but I'm thinking rack ears like the GK MB series.

Any update on shipping? They've said "March" since the initial release. But it's now officially March, so they should have it nailed down to the day or at least the week.

Just out of curiosity, where did you see that 3/25 ship date? The retailer I pre-ordered from still doesn't have a definitive ship date.

For what people are paying for these amp preorders, you'd think we'd get regular updates from DG. I'd be more understanding if this was their first production amp, but they've been through this already. Surely they know what to expect when ramping up production on new units.

Just got in touch with Korg USA who is the Darkglass US distributor. They said the most accurate date they have is "early April". Still no day, but at least better than "March". And of course it will go in the order of those retailers who preordered theirs first.
