MIDI pickups?

    Hello everyone,
    I've been reading TalkBass for a while, but I did not find any threads dealing with MIDI pickups - I mean pickups that can be used to control MIDI devices. Lately, I have been thinking about getting one. Does anyone have experience with this kind of stuff? Is it tracking the notes I play fast enough?

    The Bass Player review of this system seemed to be pretty up on it. If you want to hear it in action, I think Bunny Brunel uses it on the "CAB" CD with Dennis Chambers and Tony MacAlpine. I could be wrong.

    Thanks for the info, I found it online. The real problem seems to be the price... It would be like paying $1000 for an effect (very versatile effect, though :), and that is sadly out of my range.

    My bassist son has been using a midi pickup on his six string PBC for a couple years. Picked up pieces here and there; their band's guitarist is an Axon endorser.
