Its a very dark blue almost purpleish i guess.

Edit: RW board sorry i forgot.

The stock white pg is okay...i added chrome barrel knobs replacing the Fender guitar knobs which i didnt care for.

I am seriously thinking straight black or b/w/b.

    2 choices please!

    Thanks in advance

Sorry.....cant seem to figure out how to load pics from my Samsung III but i PROMISE i will when i get it figured out.....i know, a pic is worth a million words...err something like that.

Its a very dark blue almost purple...i love the color and the bass, its awesome for a totally stock MIM P bass...early 2000 era..... had those cheap looking white Strat knobs much better with chrome barrels.

Now if this was mine, I'd also go with a gold bridge and tuners...

If it's a stock instrument, it's rosewood. The MIMs weren't available with maple boards until long after the Midnight Blue finish was discontinued.

I voted "other." TBer Pilgrim once owned an MIM Standard Jazz in Midnight Blue that had a black or grey pearloid guard, and it always struck me as a nice combination. You can see a photo of it here.

How about a white or cream pearlescent scratchplate/pickguard?

That'd look great on the blue bass.

white or cream pearloid.......I'm biased as that is what I put on my Mid Wine Jazz (changing from plain white)......to me pearloid looks great on dark colours

some black pearls look good with the blue as well

I also put chrome barrel knobs on my dark blue MIM J, and a white pearl pickguard and a Babicz bridge. Wifey says it looks like sex on a stick.

    I didn't ask for clairification.

B/W/B - Then use a Sharpie in the closest colour you can find to the bass to fill in the White sandwich on the PG.

Or the gold anodised above looks amazing.

Voted for "Other". I think either pearl white or pearl grey would work.

I didn't realize until well after the fact that Fender puts chrome knobs on one of it's Squier J models. I don't recall the exact model, but it's active with a four knob control section and a side jack. I don't know if the pots on that Squier are the same as the pots on an MIM/MIA jazz so make sure the knobs you get will fit.

I tried a dark pearl on my blue bass before going with the white. Wifey liked the darker one, but it didn't blow my dress up at all. When i switched to the white pearl we both thought it looked really good, much better than the darker one but i've always been a big fan of dark blue and white, and i've always wanted to be a pimp so a dark blue bass with a white guard looks good, but that same bass with a white pearl guard looks pimpin. :D

A lot depends on the fingerboard, too. Maple looks a bit better than rosewood, I think, unless the hardware is gold.
