Musicman Bongo club #175
Bring it home!
Looking at that pic, I think I may know which store that is...
Good luck with the SPD, hope you get this back!
Ummmm...the police will not do anything. You guys have clearly never interacted with police before.
I agree and I have.
However, interesting series of events. One can always hope for the best.
Shop owners that buy secondhand goods are REQUIRED to take full ID and submit regular reports on all goods purchased, INCLUDING serial numbers. The numbers should have come up. It is not worth losing your license to not report the serial numbers.
ALSO - you are NOT required to re-imburse the shop owner a penny. It's a cost of doing business. I know - I managed a pawn shop for 3 years.
Also - there is a special detective detail that handles this. They will get to it quickly.
Why would he have to pay the pawnshop for the bass? They are in possession of stolen property. I would go to the police first and show up with them. You should not have to pay a single dime to get your property back
I spoke with the police in the city where it was stolen as well as the city where the bass is located. I am meeting an officer in the city where the bass is located outside right now.
Take pictures when you get it back.. we want to see that smile of Joy!!!!
Hope this turns out well for you!
Sadly, it doesn't really matter. Possession is 9/10 of the law. It's all on the person who is currently possessing it at the present time. Now, that's screwed up, ain't it?
I want to add that that's a fairly unique color as well. It's not like it's a sunburst, or black or something you see all the time.
Good luck sir
I have never seen this exact combo...the matching headstock and the white pup cover. I special ordered this in 99' and waited about 4 months for it.
I'm outside the shop now waiting for the police to arrive.
For those just tuning in:
The bass has likely changed hands many times in the last 4 years so I'm not thinking that I'm about to nail the perpetrator.
Also: I did not have an insurance claim. I tried, but was denied because I make a living as a musician and band leader.
We'll see what happens!
Waiting eagerly for the next installment...
SPD guys seem, if anything, overly diligent for the most part. Plus, it's early on a Sat, you hopefully shouldn't have too long to wait.
This is almost like waiting for the season premiere of The Walking Dead.
Once again I wish there was a popcorn smiley, though for once while watching a good story develop.
