I recently discovered the ease of playing short scale basses and am selling off instruments which I thought I would have forever. This 1989 Precision is one of my best with a very smooth, near perfect neck. (Fender's C neck-wide and flat - not C shaped) I have had it over 10 years and it is the best MIJ bass I've played and FAR better than any MIA's I have put hands on, (especially those made in the 1970's) with the exception of the early 80's Fullerton instruments. It has several dings and some honest player wear, but I have taken good care of it and used it mostly for short church gigs and not bar gigs. I had a beautiful 3 ply tortoise pickguard made by Tony at Pickguardian and replaced the pickup with a G&L Magnetic Field Design split coil which sounds great and a G&L Saddle lock bridge which adds weight but also sustain. Bass probably weighs around 9 lbs or a bit less. I will weigh it for someone who is seriously interested. It also has dunlop dual design strap locks and Thomastik Infeld Jazz Flats, both of which I may want to keep. Ships in a gig bag. It is signed by Marcus Miller, whom I have had the pleasure of meeting several times while on Jazz cruises. I can probably dig up a bad photo of him signing it, but I'd rather you just take my word that it is genuine. The signature refers to 2009, when I got it signed-the 50th anniversary of both our births in New York. The only bass trades I am interested in are short scales, 4 strings and fretted. Might take a high end combo or cabinet. I like Genzler's stuff, 10's and 12's-and it must be light weight. $899 or best offer.
