MIJ Fender question

I recently got an older MIJ Fender body. I am going to make this my current project. It's one of the MIJ Fender "Power Jazz Special" basses. For the life of me I can't find a picture but if you clicked on this then you probably know what I am talking about. It's a PJ config with a rear route.
    My question is this....
all of the MIJ Jazz Specials I have seen have three pots with a pickup selector switch. The body I have has three holes for pots, and one additional hole that is slightly larger for a pickup selector. Can anybody tell me what the config's were on the original Jazz Specials?
I was going to run it Volume/Tone/Blend and that is my guess as to what the originals were set up to do....why would you need a pickup selector if you already have a blend pot? Any ideas?
  2. I'm 99% sure the pots were volume, volume, tone.
