    Hello,

I have a t-rex fuel tank jr. I am hoping to purchase a vintage mij oc-2 but from what I understand it has different power requirements than typical boss pedals. Can anybody explain to me my options? Would hate to use a 9v battery since unplugging the input every time would be a pain.

Anyways, all advice or recommendations are much appreciated.

    Thanks!

Really I thought it is just standard 9v? I powered mine through my dc10, I believe it takes in less than 20ma of current

  3. I have an MIJ, the one that has the "r" on the end, and have no power issues. Standard, negative center 9V

you just have to make sure you have another pedal sharing the same power supply, it won't work if it's the only pedal using the power supply.

Seriously though, are mij octavers all that better than mit oc-2? I love my mit one. Such a musical octave.

  6. I have the MIT one with the Japanese guts and power supply. It works fine with my one spot. I do have 8 other pedals daisy chained though.

Just out of interest, why would that happen?

^ Dunno. My MIT-with-MIJ-guts OC2 works fine all by its self on my one spot.

Just for clarification, the country of origin has nothing to do with it. Look on the sticker on the bottom of the pedal--does it say to use an ACA supply or a PSA supply? If it says ACA, then what works for you may work for the OP.

OK, I had to go find out why a second pedal makes it work, and found the answer *here*

I have both and honestly can't tell the difference. I reckon it's the "I paid twice as much for an MIJ so it HAS TO sound better than the cheap MIT!". :bag:

to my knowledge, the early black label MIT Boss pedals are the same as the MIJ.
