Mike Lull P5 very light weight ! Precision 5 string !

Discussion in 'For Sale: Bass Guitars' started by Kevin Ellis, Mar 30, 2009.

  1. What we have here boyz is a 5 string P bass made by Mike Lull. The ONLY reason I am letting this go is that I do not play 5 string anymore. This bass is very light weight. I bought it from Bass Central last year and they said it was 8.5 lbs which is darn near insane for a 5 string bass !! It balances perfectly, resonates like none I have ever had and is in 99.9% mint condition. I really never played it at all. I just couldnt adjust to the 5 string. I payed well over $2K for this and it still looks brand new. It is still on the Bass Central website it is so new. Beautiful grain in both the body and the neck. Send me a PM if you are interested. Thanks!

What kind of pickups are used in this bass?
  3. I'm not real sure. I just checked their website and it just says "CUSTOM WOUND". It said the 4 strings use Fralins. I will write them and ask. Whatever it is it sounds awesome. Classic P Bass tone plus a great B string as well !

Dang! This thing should be snatched up immediately! If there's anyone out there interested in a fantastic well made 5 string P bass that can go toe-to-toe with anything else out there, you should buy this now. You will NEVER find a better deal than this.

I purchased a P5 from Blueberry Hill and mine has a Custom Wound pickup as well. My pickup is a Duncan.
  6. Hey mate. Hope all is going well with you and yours.

I am about to experiment with playing 4 stringers again, if that fails I may have something to offer as a trade in a week or so. Good luck selling in the mean time :)
  7. I might consider trades towards a 5 string as long as it is has a 34 inch scale. I just played a Fender version of a P5 and kinda liked it. So if you have a Fender 5 string P bass I might consider that + some cash as a trade option.

Beautiful bass Kevin. I have one of these already that I paid $2000. If someone out there has ever had the GAS for a Lull, this is a prime moment.

    I'm glad it's a 35" scale, cuz I prefer 34", but Kevin's a great guy so he's back

Looks like the B is the only string going through the body? Yes?

  17. That is correct !! A real vintage feel ! Imagine James Jamerson with a 5 string !!!
