hey all, i was wondering what album you'd reccomend me getting to start me off on mike watt. Ive wanted to check him out for years, but always get diverted somehow. I know he has done a mountain of work with many different musicians, so i was wondering which would be the best to get first?

    I'll reply anyway.

Double Nickles on the Dime by the Minutemen is the best example of Mike Watts playing I have ever heard.

+1. And my second favorite is fIREHOSE's Full Ragin' On. Between these 2 albums, you'll find much to love. The playing is exciting, creative, and unexpected throughout - and not just by Mike Watt, although he is the clear standout for me.
