Military Bands In The News

$400,000,000 is the annual cost of the bands according to the report. I guess there are 5 or 10 thousand musicians resulting in the cost, but damn! Couldn't they just get a DJ or a couple people to play trumpets?

 

I knew this was coming...

 

Put into perspective the cost of the presidential inauguration is $200,000,000. So maybe just eliminate that one day.

I played baritone horn in my Basic Training graduation. That was the extent of my military band experience. I seriously considered applying to crosstrain for the real band. It would have been awesome, and hard.

 

This perfectly encapsulates the bass player's experience.

 

I am a proud veteran of the US Navy music program. Blame the Army. They have too many bands.

 

I played in a couple of bands in the US Air Force; 'definitely some of my best memories from those times!
