Thuya burl at Righteous hardwoods. That's actually a small burl (the guy is *really* big, though). It's very pretty stuff. Alembic gets buckeye from them (I do too), but I can't say I've ever seen a thuya Alembic.

Righteous has a pretty good selection of burl -- jarrah, amboyna, maple, myrtle. That place is great.

Larry at Gallery Hardwoods has thuya sets all sliced up. Go to his gallery page if you want to see what it looks like on the inside.

Talking wood? What do you suppose that burl would be saying?

    Yep, it's me.

It says "break out your wallet, biatch". That's what all the wood at that place says. Last time I was there they had a 8" wide piece of macassar ebony 10 foot long. I probably should have bought it. I should bring a web cam there so Mark can pick out the top for his next bass.

just how many tops could my next bass have anyway?
That might making choosing a little easier...

maybe interchangeable tops? You know, to go with your outfit?
