MIM and MIA Tuners

    Will tuners from a MIM Jazz neck fit in a modern MIA Jazz neck? Hopefully there are not many variances as to make this to broad of a question.

    Yes, they should fit. The outside dimension of the MIA bushing is .6645 inches (16.88 mm) the bore for MIM post is 17mm. Those two dimensions are so close together, I expect both factories are using the same bores.

    I have not worked with machines from a current American Standard, but have found MIM Standard and both Hwy 1 and One (I would assume AmSpecial also) interchangeable, with 11/16" hole and bushings ... these were direct fit, screw pattern as well ... American Series and American Standards used a completely different machine from above (obviously), and even if the bore is the same, at the very least both bushings would need to be changed, and mounting screw holes will either show, or need to be drilled, depending on which way you are adapting ...
