MIM Fender Jazz standard vs. Squier Jazz

Discussion in 'Basses [BG]' started by 2BitBassPlayer, Aug 26, 2001.

  1. Right now i have a '01 Squire Jazz. Would it be worth it to go to a MIM jazz standard? Is there a big difference in sound or quality between the two?

  2. I think you should play your Squier (it's a nice bass), and maybe the next year you could buy a MIA Jazz...

IM, it is a better deal to buy and upgrade a MIM jazz than to buy a MIA jazz. I think the MIA is overpriced.

I always figured it was a matter of luck which had better sound. Your have better odds of getting a good Fender by spending more money, but there is no guarantee.

Some of the Squier's are pretty nice axes.
